Opening Double Diagnosis Clinic in Zutphen

The Double Diagnosis is an Intensive Treatment Clinic for people with both psychological and addiction problems. It has a secluded and a closed part, which are designed in a progressive way. In anticipation of new legislation, an ultramodern clinic has been realised that offers adequate care to its patients according to the latest methods.

In order to optimally fit the building into the location, the programme is divided over two floors. For this reason, two living groups have also been realised on the first floor, with large private patios as outdoor space. This way, a compact yet spacious building has been designed with short walking distances and fully-fledged living areas with their own outdoor space.

The closed communal group is located on the ground floor, with its own door to the patio. The secluded groups are situated on the first floor and are separated by the centrally located team room. By using a lot of glass in the hallway and living room, there is a lots of daylight and overview, so a lot of social control and higher security. The interior is designed as a 'healing environment', in which the choice of materials and colours creates a comfortable interior, which enhances the improvement of the patient. The whole has a homely appearance, with an own identity for each communal group.
