On Thursday 28 March 2019, the new building of De Eeshof in Tubbergen was officially opened. The residential care complex of Zorggroep Sint Maarten, which has been inhabited since May 2018, has been given the appropriate name of Bloemenhof. After speeches by alderman Roy de Witte and member of the Board of Directors Patricia Bangma, the festivities could begin. Henk Gersen of IAA Architecten offered a sundial on behalf of the builders.

The new building is intended for everyone who needs nursing home care (pg). The building can accommodate six units for eight residents with dementia each, who live together in small-scale residential groups. The emphasis for the residents is on safety, homeliness and being together. Within the small-scale living groups, Zorggroep St. Maarten continuously strives for a household that is as normal as possible, in which the residents can exert as much influence as possible on their own daily schedule and spending. It is always the starting point that people can remain to direct their own lives.
