Archikidz 2018: Living on the water

Last Saturday the third edition of Archikidz Enschede, a free workshop for 103 children between the ages of 7 and 12, took place with great success. In Tetem, the young participants could build a model of their dream home on the water. The aim of Archikidz is to interest primary schoolchildren in the professions of architecture and construction.

Creating together with IAA Architecten

With simple materials such as cardboard, tape and fabrics, the kids get acquainted with architecture in a playful manner. As in previous years, they were assisted by a large number of volunteers, including several architects from IAA Architecten who also helped organise the day.

Archikidz is free and therefore accessible to children from all walks of life – including children for whom participation in such an event might not be self-evident. Archikidz Enschede is made possible by sponsoring and donations. The organisation of the day and the supervision of the children is done purely voluntarily.
